I didn't get to know Eileen very well, but she used to work for Lewisham council at a place called Leegate House, when I first started work on 16 July 1979. She was friendly, had a great sense of humour and was always willing to help others. Eileen didn't work in the main office, as she worked as a personal secretary for one of the Assistant Borough Housing Officers, so I didn't see her that often. Looking back they were fun times and Leegate House certainly employed a lot of interesting characters.
